Visualizing a Journey of Compassion: The BYBM Archive
Richard Zaher, founder of Paramount Business Jets, established Best You Best Me (BYBM) as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to random acts of kindness. I was commissioned to lead a long-term archival project, transforming years of raw, personal footage into a high-quality series of 10+ polished mini-episodes for his digital presence.
The Defense: Built for Legacy, Not for the Algorithm
This project was never about chasing viral metrics or “exploiting” kindness for views. My role was to act as a visual biographer—polishing amateur recordings into a professional, permanent record. This series ensures Richard’s life’s work in philanthropy is preserved in a cinematic form that values authenticity over performance.
My Approach: Precision Archiving & Narrative Polish
Series Management: I managed the post-production for 10+ distinct “Kindness Acts,” ensuring a consistent emotional tone across a decade’s worth of disparate footage.
Archival Restoration: I reviewed a vast library of records—from major $25k food drives in West Virginia to intimate moments helping neighbors—giving each act a modern, professional “shine.”
Narrative Refining: I transformed spontaneous recordings into engaging stories that highlight human connection without losing the raw energy of the original acts.
Editorial Continuity: Beyond the lens, I ensured the written narrative of these missions remained consistent with the visual storytelling, helping to articulate the “why” behind the foundation’s philosophy in its official records.
Intentional Pacing: Each episode was treated as a unique chapter in a larger “Journey of Kindness,” using subtle sound design and clean editing to elevate simple acts into meaningful visual legacies.
The Result: A 10+ Part Digital Legacy
The final mini-series stands as a comprehensive history of the foundation’s global and local impact. By converting scattered footage and fragmented stories into a cohesive 10+ project archive, I provided Richard with a high-quality visual and narrative roadmap—proving that the most impactful stories are the ones built to last.
